A little bit about us…
Dating from the 18th century, The Bear is a Marlborough pub which is an authentic addition to a historic market town. Run by Iain and Liz, The Bear is situated at the start of Marlborough High street next to the Town Hall, Marlborough is home to one of the widest high streets in Britain, offering a cast space for regular markets which still occur to this date.
Traditional elements of the building create a homely atmosphere. The recently refurbished bedrooms are in keeping with the building’s history but with additional modern comforts.
The bar area has also been refurbished and offers real ales, premium lagers and fine wines, perfect after a busy day exploring the area.

Rooms at the Bear
The Accommodation at The Bear hosts 8 beautifully refurbished En-suite rooms two Family rooms with shared bathroom and shower facilities and two double rooms with shared showers and bathrooms
With help from Arkells brewery our rooms have been upgraded to a great standard but still incorporate the old characteristic of the building

Barrelhouse are a hard-working Blues Band packed with energy and experience.
Formed in early 2014, we cover some great Vintage Blues & Blues/Rock Classics, old & new, some of which you rarely hear played out live, but we’re doing them our way!
Heavily influenced by the golden age of Chicago Blues & the early pioneers of the British Blues scene, we’re staying true to the essence that made these tunes great & then adding our own style of Hard-Edge Groove, we think you’ll like it!
We’re working on our own original material too, some of which you’ll already hear in our set.
We reserve the right to ask for identification from people buying restricted products and when checking in to our premises.
All under 18’s must vacate the Bar by 8pm.
We reserve the right to refuse service or entry to anyone and will be given a valid reason.
